Requirements

The college has New Zealand, China and Korea Committee which will make the decision if the applicant can be

issued the admission. If you would like to study in New Zealand Food Safety College and receive a diploma, you

have to meet basic entry requirements. The basic requirements may be met by completing a specified duration of

acceptable tertiary study from a recognized tertiary institution.  If you have started or completed tertiary study

overseas you must have your overseas qualification. The qualification could be one year’s bachelor degree level

study at a recognized institution or university with good passing grades or completion of a two-year

diploma from a recognized institution or university with good passing grades. In addition, if English is not your first language,

you need to be required to meet the requirement of English language (IELTS with overall score of 6.0 and all

bands 5.5 or better).

There is no English language requirement for those people in food industries. Even the college may provide

translator during the training courses. They can receive a certificate of the training for short course rather than a

diploma. If they would like to pursue a diploma they also need meet the basic requirements as mentioned above

and study for at least one year.
